Anomalous scan pattern
An anomalous scan pattern was detected during 22 - 23 Oct (orbits 39975 - 39982). The altitude spacing and the number of sweeps per scan was not the expected NOM one, so that more than half of the spectra for each scan hit the ground, see also below the plot of tangent altitude as a fonction of time.

The problem was due to the fact that on 22nd October, MIPAS encountered an IDU SYS TOL error anomaly that was recovered quickly, but during the instrument recovery the wrong CTI was uploaded. The correct CTI was then automatically uploaded on 23rd October @ 10.29.12 utc, right after the planned LOS calibrations.

All measurements taken during this period (orbits 39975 - 39982) are affected by this problem, in particular the measured signal of the affected sweeps is saturated in all bands and could not be used for analysis.
